As Tournament Principal of the Golden Gate Open, founded in 2023, Pablo Pires de Almeida has brought professional tennis back to Stanford University with the first ever ATP/WTA combined tournament in NorCal history. The Golden Gate Open is proud to produce an ATP/WTA 125 event offering equal men’s and women’s prize money in its inaugural year.

Over his 20+ year career, Pires de Almeida has established himself among Northern California’s elite tennis coaches and leaders in the sport. Having coached players from ITF pros to aspiring juniors, including a 14+ year stint of collegiate coaching at University of San Francisco and Dominican University of California, Pires de Almeida is passionate about inspiring and mentoring players at every level. As CEO and Founder of Mighty Tennis, Pires de Almeida is shaping a more equitable future in professional tennis, and empowering current and future generations to build a sport in which all athletes are celebrated.
