ProTek is branching out, moving beyond the first responder space into the general sporting world. Presenting Ocean ICONs — a collection of watches created for and with luminaries who live and work in the ocean.
ProTek is branching out from its tactical background into general sporting watches with the Ocean ICONs Series, featuring watches tied to people whose lives are lived in the ocean. Each ICON worked with our designer and our Managing Director to create their watch.
The first two Ocean ICONs to be released are internationally known big-wave surfing legends from Hawaii: Shane Dorian and Paige Alms. All five watches are coming soon and not yet available for purchase.

Big-Wave Legend • Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Shane Dorian is a world-renowned surfer from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and one of the best big-wave surfers ever. He spent 11 years touring on the World Championship Tour as a professional surfer, winning countless awards. He is featured among a crew of young future surfing stars in the documentary film Momentum Generation, alongside his good friend, 11-time World Surfing Champion Kelly Slater, and other surfing legends.
In 2003 he shifted his focus to big waves and has been one of the best in the world at big-wave riding ever since. More recently, he earned the role of head coach for Team USA Surfing at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Shane is a Billabong ambassador, along with many other brands.

Shane's signature model was designed in collaboration with ProTek's owner and Swiss designer, with Shane involved in every design detail, and is based on ProTek's Series 1000. Shane loves the colour orange, so his watch features it prominently — orange rubber strap, orange crown grip and orange second-hand — with a second charcoal strap in the box.

Big-Wave Pioneer • Maui
A pioneer for female big-wave surfers and two-time big-wave world champion, Paige Alms is one of the best women big-wave surfers in the world — self-taught and self-motivated. Born on the island of Victoria, B.C., Canada, she relocated to the warmer island of Maui when she was 9 years old, after traveling the entire breadth of Australia in a van with her mom. Ho‘okipa became her stomping grounds at age ten, and by the age of 15, Paige's first big-wave session had her instantly hooked.
She continues to push herself to ride the biggest waves possible alongside her peers, hoping to inspire other people to push their limits and live their dreams. Paige is a global Patagonia ambassador and was recently all over the news for the release of Patagonia's new inflation vest, created to save lives in big-wave events.
Push your limits and live your dreams.
Paige loved the military digi-camo dial used on some ProTek USMC watches, so we changed it to a cool blue digi-camo dial matching the blue rubber crown, all of which ties to the blue of the ocean in Maui. Her signature is on the dial and her image riding a wave is on the caseback. It comes on a charcoal rubber strap with a second blue strap in the box.

Big Animal Expeditions • Explorer & Photographer
Amos Nachoum is a former Israeli Special Forces commando who today runs Big Animal Expeditions, taking people all over the world to swim with the planet's greatest animals — from great white sharks and blue whales to leopard seals and polar bears — and, on land, jaguars.
He is also an award-winning photographer, named the world's best nature photographer, and was recently awarded a lifetime achievement award and inducted into the Scuba Diving Hall of Fame. He is the lead judge for Scuba Diving Magazine's annual photography issue. Amos recently set out on a three-week expedition to Antarctica — wearing his new watch.

The Ultimate Waterman • Hawaiian Ocean Royalty
Brian Keaulana is the ultimate waterman. He created the lifeguard protocols used all over the world, and 11-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater has called him the most important person in ocean rescue. He is one of only three people to win both Hawaiian Waterman Awards — the Eddie Aikau Quiksilver award and the more prestigious Duke Kahanamoku award.
Brian also owns multiple companies, including iWATERMAN, which trains the US military and Special Forces all year long — including Navy SEALs — on expediting ocean rescues, and Hawaiian Water Patrol. He is Hollywood's go-to waterman for film and TV projects shot in Hawaii, dating back to Kevin Costner's 1995 film Waterworld, with credits including Hawaii Five-0, Lost and Magnum P.I. Bottom line: Brian is Hawaiian ocean royalty.
Our land is where we sleep. Our ocean is where we live.

Official Watch • Jet Ski Rescue
Hawaiian Water Patrol are the people saving lives on jet skis at all the big-wave contests. When the biggest swells arrive and the world's best riders charge, HWP crews are on the water in the impact zone, ready to pull surfers to safety when the ocean is at its most dangerous.
Owned by Brian Keaulana — the waterman who created the ocean-rescue protocols used all over the world — Hawaiian Water Patrol puts those protocols to work every big-wave season. This is their Official Watch.
